New Band Debuts Soon!

Well, Things around here are pretty nuts. The cd is selling very well, and I can't be more excited about it. "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" seems to be the DJ pick for Carolina Beach Music, which is excellent. On the College & Top 40 Stations, we are pushing "Serendipity", and it is building a solid following. Currently I am 2 shows down, on a run of 6 shows in 5 days. Tonight, I am headed to Sharky's Oyster & Raw Bar in Roanoke Rapids, NC, which is always fun. Last night was a Tax Relief/Spring Break Party at Wilson, NC's Applebee's from 10pm-1:30am. I haven't played a show that late in a while, so it was funny for me. The crowd their was pretty young, and they were lots of fun. I haven't had anyone request "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins before, but lot's of them wanted it. Apparently Top Gun is still a favorite in Wilson! I promised them if I was back, that I would have it for them! I have been working putting my band together, and it is going well. Trying to find the right players isn't easy, but it's working. My friend Shawn Simon will be playing Bass Guitar, Ben Sparrow on Saxophone, Brett Komo (not the right spelling) on lead guitar, Brandon Mooring on Keys, and Matt Kellerman on Drums. The band will be performing in both the 6 piece form as well, as in a trio form with me (on keys an guitar), Shawn, and Matt. I'm absolutely stoked for what's coming up for us. What is cool about this group, is that with the exception of Matt, all of the band members I worked with in the ECU Jazz Ensemble, and they are all monster players. In addition, the age range of the band is 19-27, which is super cool. The band will begin performing in late May, and the bookings are already coming in well for the summer and fall 2010. This mix will blend incredibly well with my current solo shows. Things are good. It's lots of fun! More Info To Come Soon!

IT'S SERENDIPITY FOLKS!

I am so excited everybody. Serendipity was finally released 2 weeks ago, and is doing amazing. It features 13 great songs on 12 tracks, including 3 original tunes. Featuring "Serendipity", the title track written by myself with the help of my wife Shelly, as well as "Shelly's Song", "Bootyshaker", and some classics such as "Walkin' In Memphis", "Just The Way You Are", "Don't Get Around Much Anymore", "Tracks of my Tears" and more. I really feel like everyone will LOVE IT! The cd has been selling like crazy! You can purchase the cd at www.chasegiven.com, both in cd or mp3 form. Both are only $9.99.
The last few days have been amazing! To support this cd, I have put together a 5 piece band to back me up, and they sound amazing! In addition, yesterday I booked 8 shows. I couldn't believe it. Life really is good. I hope it is good for you! Let's talk soon!

New CD Delay, and New Shows!

So first off, I'm sorry that the cd has been delayed. There have been a few set-backs, and honestly much of the delay has been from my swamped schedule, which is a good thing, but causes back up issues for recording. Anyway, I wanted to clue you in on a few things. First of all, I had an amazing photo shoot with an amazing up-and-coming Photographer based in Greenville, NC named Brad Wilder. The "Serendipity" Photo Shoot came out tremendous, and if he can make me look good, he is a genious. Here is one of the pictures that I was just blown away with!
Since the cd is taking so long to finish, here is a leak of the t
rack listing:
Track Listing:
1. Haven’t Met You Yet
2. Serendipity
3. Always On My Mind
4. How Sweet It Is
5. I Will Be Here
6. Shelly’s Song (Eternity)
7. Bootyshaker
8. Easy
9. Don’t Get Around Much Anymore
10. Just The Way You Are
11.Walkin’ In Memphis
12. Tracks of my Tears/Cupid

I really feel like this is going to be a great cd. The reaction thus far to what people have heard has been great. Serendipity will be the first single on the cd. I wrote the song with my wife Shelly.
Shows have been coming in so strong lately. I spent the afternoon last weekend at the
Greenville Bridal Expo, and have already booked 8 wedding receptions from it. I'm talking to 10 more right now. I am expecting to play around 180 shows, and am so excited about it.
Alright, time to get off to the dog park for the morning stroll with my puppy Gene Kelly. Oh, by the way, we adopted another new puppy.
We named him Satchmo. He has a Satchal mouth much like Louis Armstrong, but he does this hilarious Ewok growl when he plays with Gene Kelly.
Peace Out My Folks!

Hallelujah and more

Ok,
So it's been months since I posted anything on here, and I should have. I am a little better with Facebook and such, but terrible with blogs. However, I am going to do much better. So here is where we are at...
A few weeks ago, after Haiti was hit by that horrifying Earthquake, I wanted to do something to help. I am currently recording Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" for Charity. The cd version will be $2 and the mp3 version will be $.99. For both, the entire net proceed will go straight to the American Red Cross's Haiti Relief Fund. The track is coming together beautifully. It is a pretty stripped version, featuring Piano, Cello, Acoustic Guitar, a Flugelhorn Solo, and of course vocals. I really hope that everyone will purchase the track. It is a way that you can help, and get something back while you give!
In addition, my new cd "Serendipity" should drop this weekend. Featuring 3 tracks written by myself, as well as at least 8 more tracks (minimum 11 songs), this cd will be a great recording. I'm very very proud of it, and hope that we can move lots of them! Anyway, I need to get to the gym, then back to the studio. I hope that all is well for you!

End of Summer...

Hey Guys & Gals,
Things are a little crazy around here these days. Shelly's finishing up her Pediatric Rotation (as part of her 3rd year of medical school). She absolutely loves it, even with the stress. Our puppy Gene Kelly is silly as ever.
I am finishing up a my debut single "Serendipity" which will be out in the very near future. It will be available on iTunes, as well as on cd. It will lead up the upcoming cd coming soon. I promise the cd will be worth the wait. It will have a minimum of 10 tracks, and at this point, all of them are written by myself.
These days, it's been tough gigging in the tough economy, but I can't say enough how much I appreciate the venues hiring me, and all of my great fans who come out to see me. It warms my heart that you spend your hard earned money to spend an evening with me.
That's it for now...
Have a great week! Good luck to all of the students starting school this week!
